National hot tub day

As if there aren’t enough random holidays throughout the year, here’s another one to celebrate – National Hot Tub Day is an annual holiday that takes place on March 28th. Make the day a big deal by unplugging from today’s technology, unwinding from the daily stress, and soaking in the hot tub.  And if you haven’t got a hot tub – how about a Jacuzzi bath?

Hot Tub Health Benefits

Did you know that hot tubs can benefit you and your health?  If you have fibromyalgiaarthritischronic stress, or just everyday aches and pains, a hot tub might be right for you. With the benefits hydrotherapy provides, it is great to be able to continue the treatment at home.  At first thought, purchasing a hot tub could get pricey once you consider the cost, placement preparation, electrical installation, chemical purchases, and maintenance.  However, new styles are now available that are easy to install, eco-friendly, and budget friendly.

The History of Hot Tubs

Ancient hot tubs consisted of marble bathtubs and hot stones submerged in water. Stones are prepped and remain in hot water until a steamy desired temperature was achieved.

The Jacuzzi Brothers created the concept of hot tub jets. These seven brothers were Italian immigrants from the early 1900s. The brothers took a hydraulic aircraft pump and installed it in a bathtub to create bubbles in the 1940’s. A family member suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, which also prompted the hot tub invention.

Currently there are estimated to be around 25 million hot tubs are on the planet today.

Alternative to Hot Tubs

So what’s the alternative to a hob tub?  Why not invest in a luxury bath – something like the Jacuzzi bath above, which will give you the same hot tub experience?  Or, another luxury bathroom buy is the freestanding bath.  CPL Bathrooms stock many luxury bathroom brands, with Villeroy & Boch, Imperial and Waters all doing a great examples.  We particularly like the Imperial example below:

If your budget won’t stretch to a hot tub or new bath, how about getting the luxury feel by adding a wine glass holder to your existing bath?  You can still relax in a warm, steamy bath and have your tipple handy.  How about this example that’s currently on display in our Guildford showroom window?

Head over to a hot tub (or your own luxury bath!) near you and enjoy yourself. Whether you just stick your big toe in the water or soak until your fingers are shriveled like prunes, sit back, relax and enjoy. And no matter what the weather is like, National Hot Tub Day is always a GREAT DAY!  If you need any help choosing that new bath, or any other bathroom supplies, then have a look at our website to see the brands we supply, or pop by our Guildford bathroom showroom to speak to one of our knowledgeable team.
